Heard that EP40 will be out again, and possibly for another week. Wrist, I think.

Fell asleep at 3-1. Habs continue to have their number.

I missed Danault's first goal in a year!

Also, Kotkaniemi is flourishing under the new coach. Let's go!

Canucks pick up Jimmy Vesey off waivers from the Leafs. Makes sense as they lack depth up front with their recent injury bug (and in general). Maybe they can trade Virtanen now.

A question occurred to me during last night's game against the Habs. In light of Demko's arrival, would the Canucks be any better this season with Tanev and Markstrom in their lineup?

I say no. They may have had a slightly better start to the season although that's no guarantee as they were so disorganized out of the gate. They would also have less up front and even more cap issues down the road.

They look a lot like they did last year. Good goaltending continues to mask major defensive deficiencies. Bubble team at best.

Canucks looked great in a second period last night. Sending guys to the net and creating screens for Allen.

Demko looked like a no. 1 last night. Didn't give Anderson any room on the OT break.

Demko is possibly going to carry them into the playoffs himself. This team still sucks but great goal tending changes everything.

What the Canucks should do: Sell high on as many assets as you can.

What the Canucks will probably do: Sign Tanner Pearson to an extension and possibly trade for a guy they shouldn’t for another playoff appearance.

They are definitively trying to sign Pearson. They don't have any money to spare and cannot take on salary so I seriously doubt Benning has the smarts to pull off a trade while pacifying ownership.

Habs fired a million shots at Holtby and still barely won

Nucks did well to get Price off-kilter.

Pearson is the epitome of a guy you sell high on. He's 28, good but not great, and is set to sign a deal that will likely take him well into his thirties. Right now he has good value--if Benning had an ounce of brain under that dome of his he'd flip the guy for whatever he could get. But I know he won't.

Sell-high guy is totally the kind of player Benning would drop four years on.

Perfect time to tank. Is this year's draft pool as deep as it has been in the past few years?

Of course, I wouldn't put it past GMJB to use his draft picks to offload contracts.

Horrible time to learn a lesson from last year's UFA season by trying to re-up Pearson. I like him but with Podkolzin coming up after the summer, and the need to protect some cap allocation $ for Petterson and Hughes, I think there are younger, cheaper options available.

I don't think he's even smart enough to do that. Pretty sure he has never, ever, in his seven-plus years as GM of the Canucks, dumped a salary. Apologies in advance if I'm wrong.

Okay if you're not gonna pull the plug after giving up four goals to *checks notes* Andrew Copp!?!?!??...then I don't know what to tell you, Francesco.

BTW, since the owner bragged about the Demko-driven win streak on Twitter, the Canucks haven't won a game since.

Despite of all the issues they have, I still would rather be the Canucks than the Flames right now.

Can't argue that. At least Jim values skill to a degree. Brad doesn't.

Not out of the realm of possibility Sutter dead cat bounces the Flames into the playoffs, but at this point I think it's more likely Gaudreau goes in the offseason and they do a retool.

No goaltending, no depth, funny fitting pieces, fake centres etc.

I had a feeling throwing all that money at Markstrom would be a mistake. Even Drance got that one wrong. He advocated the Canucks parlaying Demko into help up front and/or on defense.
