I don't watch a lot of Canucks but they look really good tonight against Boston. Boston better forget that free wheeling BS last night against Calgary as this Canucks team is a whole lot better.

Yeeeouch! 9-3 drubbing.....This team looks a lot better now than it did at the beginning of the year. Toffoli looks good out there. Bruins looked like they weren't taking this game seriously....even Jack Edwards was talking more smack than usual at the beginning of this one.

I'd like to see this Canucks team in the playoffs.

A bit of payback for the whooping the Bruins put on them previously.

It's a damn good forward group even without Boeser but the defense is weak. The Pacific is also weak, they could win a couple rounds, and if they do that might get lucky and go further but its really remote chance.

That would seem like a Benning move. More futures going away for a long shot at the cup.

omg, rumour of 1st rounder, A grade prospect Stetcher or Virtannen. Most probably Stetcher as too many cap space issues with otherwise.

and yet I could really see Benning go all in on this, just grates me.

OMG - that would be a terrible move by Benning just to try to keep his job. Stecher is a much better defender than Barrie 5 on 5 and at least they have symmetry and defined defensive role pairings with Fanty back in the frey and Benn back where he belongs as the depth guy. Like, where would Barrie even fit? They need defensive depth -- not offensive upside from the back end at this stage.

I'd rather have Mike Green. This season has been horrible but Stetcher plus a mid round draft pick probably gets it done.

Stecher for Barrie straight up won't be enough. Doesn't make sense as Barrie would need to take a haircut to re-sign here; even after arbitration, Stecher would be less, while also being a more reliable defender.

Please, Lordy please no Simmonds. Even if they get bounced after the first round, I'd rather not see Jimbo give up anything in his Magnificent Seven or any more draft picks for Simmonds.

Won't know Markstrom's injury projection until Wednesday but honestly not that bothered by this too much. It's a great opportunity to find out what Demko can do being the #1. Should help the team make the decision regarding whether to resign Markstrom or not this summer.

Really sucks for Markstrom though, going into UFA after his best season ever.

Someone pointed out that this sounds like that spring when Ryan Miller got injured down and Eddie Lack had to fill in down the stretch...

Haven't heard anything confirming this but I'm hoping it's a miniscus issue that can be addressed and potentially resolved in three weeks or so. I would imagine that Markstrom's camp will want to get back in net so that he maximizes his leverage heading into negotiations with Vancouver.

Goalie looked pretty damn good vs the Isles. 45 saves!

Won on a roll of the dice. But was feeling pretty good going into the SO as Demmer has been solid in SO.

But damned Vancouver didn't deserve the win the way that they couldn't get a sniff of the puck in OT.

I'm only just now learning that Bo Horvat's legal name is "Bowie."

Pretty sure that's just his hockey nickname.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo_Horvat

Quote:
Horvat was born in London, Ontario, to Tim and Cindy Horvat. His father is a former hockey player who also played major junior with the London Knights, while his younger brother, Cal, also plays hockey. He grew up in Rodney, Ontario, which is approximately 50 kilometres away from London, a farming town with a population of about 1,000. In an interview with his parents, Tim stated that he originally wanted to name Horvat "Bo" after Bo Jackson and Bo Schembechler; however, Cindy stated that she did not want to name Horvat just "Bo". The couple eventually decided to name Horvat "Bowie," since Cindy was a big fan of David Bowie.

Naw, they never use the first name. His hockey nickname has to be "Horvie" or something dumb like that.
