This is a little bit surprising. Suppose the Canucks could in theory throw the world at him but can't imagine there's even the semblance of team to make it worthwhile for him to play out west, never mind the media scrutiny and travel.

First time I've ever heard the name Troy Stetcher. Apparently worth almost 3M!

Well, $2.3M for 2 years but point taken. Home grown d-man who can skate and move the puck quickly but gets uncomfortable in his own end when he is has said puck.

For a minute I thought that was the guy in the doghouse all season but I think I'm mixing him up with Ben Hutton

I am sitting here scratching my head wondering exactly what Trevor did in his four year tenure apart from sign a rookie GM and Coach ?

Some of the names getting bounced around: Dean Lombardi and Chris Pronger.

If Dean gets the job (uggggghhhh) I'm guessing it'll be like what went down with Shapiro and Anthopoulos in Toronto, which I guess might be a good thing, I'm just bummed that Lombardi might get the chance to GM another team again.

Yeah Lombardi isn't the best GM in the world but he has 2 Cup rings and you know he's going to be shoving them right in Aquilini's face.

Some wild speculation about how the resignation (err firing) went down. Apparently when Benning's contract was re-upped in February, he was required to then report directly to Aquilini -- bypassing Linden altogether. Strange set of circumstances concerning the clubs Director of Hockey Operations.

In his series of tweets, Aquilini mentioned that a rebuild is a long, slow, gradual process. Everybody needs to be united behind the same vision and pulling in the same direction, implying that Linden was being impatient one and cutting corners on the "plan". But most of the speculation around the club is staying precisely the opposite. That is was ownership who were growing impatient and agreed with Bennings scale and framework of their plan. Sorted relationships indeed. One thing is certain though - working for the Aquilini's never ends well.

Another strange tidbit - Aquilini said they would name a new club President in due course on the Tweeter but Benning said today in an interview that Aquilini told him he has no plans on hiring a new president (of hockey operations).

The mixed messaging continues.

What a wholly dysfunctional ownership group if true. But I guess we already knew that. This story is far from over.

It could be all B.S. journalist muckraking but I love the story so I'm choosing to believe it. I have not enjoyed disliking Linden for the last few years and the sympathy this story brings up puts him right back in my good books where he belongs. The last few years have been wiped. Logical, nah...........but still satisfying.

Sounds like John Weisbrod is a thug. A Harvard graduate mind you -- but still a thug.
