Watching Habs-Leafs tonight. Mitch Marner is the next Nicklas Backstrom.

Plekanec was able to shadow Auston, but the Habs had nothing to counter Marner's outside speed. He created a bunch of chances.

Gardiner just drives me nuts. So close to a good player if not great player but he doesn't get on his horse soon enough coming back cutting his own time to decision make once on the puck and seems when he does blunders he makes absolute boneheaded ones.

He needs a safety net, i.e., a top-flight defenseman who takes on the really tough matchups and allows him to freewheel a little. Obviously Rielly is very good, but he ain't that guy.

It'll be interesting to see what Toronto ends up doing to address this. It'll likely cost them a good player up front, which is a shame because I really like the Leafs' forward corps.

Anderson appears to be out in the heart of a playoff bubble battle. Hopefully it is just a game or two, or maybe the backup can throw a hot streak up when the Leafs need it.

They have been relatively healthy all year so can't really complain to bad about the injury.

They have Florida tonight in their barn and the panthers just played last night, this is not two points they can let slip away who ever they have in net.
