He needs a safety net, i.e., a top-flight defenseman who takes on the really tough matchups and allows him to freewheel a little. Obviously Rielly is very good, but he ain't that guy.
It'll be interesting to see what Toronto ends up doing to address this. It'll likely cost them a good player up front, which is a shame because I really like the Leafs' forward corps.
