Watching Matthews the last couple of tune up games and impressive all around game for a kid just turning nineteen in the next week or so. Who ever he plays with will be getting some odd man rushes as his ability to get in the way of the other teams rush and force a turn over then use his incredible hand eye to contain the puck and counter attack is a really impressive skill. Maybe I am just seeing it these games so much as he is playing wing...

I assume the Leafs will have a lot of young centers playing wing since the team has Marner and Nylander possibly coming in as well in addition to Kadri and Bozak already established at the position. Kinda hearkens back to the ol' Pat Quinn days when he had way too many centers.

Marner played wing all last season and do not see that changing.

Yeah he looks to be the number one C right from the word go this season. Not sure if Babcock will keep his ice time and responsibility down with his history of not playing younger guys but how many younger guys has he had with this pedigree and maturity in his game?

Will be interesting to see how he is used, I think he is given the ice time myself.
