I guess Burke wants to see what he has sooner than later if this goes down.

It's always nice when the 38th best goalie in the AHL gets rewarded.

You left out "statistically"

He's likely closer to 25. ;)

At this point is he going to be worse than Cujo?

Doubt it.

Hey, your AHL starter from last year is currently doing a very good job filling in for the best goalie on the planet. Apparently success means little in Toronto, they'd rather give guys that should be retired another job or put guys that aren't ready in the line of fire than give a guy the opportunity he deserves.

The way I see it is why not give Pogge some burn in front of the fans then you can show your justified in looking at other long term solutions in net. What ever way they where doing it has changed it seems with this move so as much as it says about Joseph I believe it could be a sign that Toskala is not the long haul option either hence the need to experiment.

Well he was good, not great still let one in he should of had but made some nice stops he could of missed. But good is miles ahead of Joseph right now so give him the next game as well.

Nice to see he's helping the tank effort.

Still too early to tell whether or not he will pan out, but man if Rask ends up being a star in Boston and Pogge busts JFJ better never set foot in Toronto again.

Cardinal sins of bad goals. Don't let one in in the first two minutes, the last two minutes if the game is still close, or too break a 0-0 tie.

Sure the team bailed on him, but he lite the negativity fire pretty good.

The TSN guy is wrong the first and third goal should of been stopped.

Once again that early cheapo is his nemesis.

3rd round picks should not be over rated too soon which is likely the big fault in Leaf land with Pogge.

Based on his performance this year in the AHL he should have never been called up but the Leafs were out of options...last nights game was BRUTAL.

Not to mention the endless comparisons because of a horrible trade of a 1st round top goaltending prospect because "we have two good goalie prospects, why would we need both of them?".

they should have pushed him into the #1 spot by mid season; end result, we tank a bunch of games, pogge gets needed ice time at the nhl level, everyone starts playing two way hockey, and we get a hi draft pick - wheres the downside? oh ya, we dont finish at 500 and no hi draft pick, and still miss the miss the playoffs....
i thought burke and wilson had better vision than previous mgmt teams, but it just seems like the same old shit with a shiny new bow on it, well maybe its a little bit better, but i gotta say i was hoping for more; thats a different rant for a different, i'm bottling it up till the beginning of next season when i'll drop another flame post.

Again, you never hire Ron Wilson if the plan is to tank. He gets a lot of mileage out of guys with marginal talent.

Burke/Wilson are still on the right path. The results might seem JFJ esque, but the team is collecting young assets and trading players only when their value is high or services are no longer required. They are also keeping their payroll down.

I wouldn't be shocked if Burke made a run at Bouwmeester this offseason.
