I have to admit I am quite baffled as to why he's misfired so badly. Yeah, staying loyal to a lousy coach is what ultimately cost him his job in Vancouver as well, but there's more to it than that. It could be he badly misjudged just how horrible the team he inherited was, and how barren the system was as well. Also...he vowed he wouldn't ever get caught short on goaltending and unfortunately he'll be going into the season, barring some eleventh-hour trade for Luongo, with Reimer/Scrivens. Could be great, but a huge, huge gamble.

Potential line combos. I had forgotten they signed McClement. I think Leafs fans will like him. No, not flashy at all...but great defensive forward and elite penalty killer.

I kinda suspect Paul Ranger to end up part of the Leafs D. If Kadri is not making the team this year then trade him already, still think he will be a decent enough player for someone at some point.

Asset management has always been his strong suit, but he didn't inherit a team with a lot of assets and he traded away a bunch of high draft picks for a one-dimensional player instead of trying to rebuild properly. Not a great plan.

To his credit on that himself and most "pundit" types did not forsee the picks being so high. But he did it and it is what it is, so.

and not to mention Dougie Hamilton is not all he is touted up to be. have to get that in as I have it in for that guy.
