Again, I think it was an egregious mistake for the Avs to trade him, so good for him that Burke isn't letting him go anywhere. Proteau thought this meant Luke Schenn is as good as gone. Guess we'll see.

The only concern I would have about this deal is that it'll take him to around 34/35 years of age, and while he's no Pascal Leclaire, he's dealt with some serious injury concerns in the past. Not being a big guy, I wonder about his durability in upcoming seasons.

Location: Too deep in crease.
Schenn and Liles play different roles and different sides, though lately what side guys play seems not a set for the Leafs. It's Gunner that I would guess this effects most as far as trade status.

Funny when I saw the dollar figure thought...hey good deal he must like TO, and hey I must of forgot he was American. Americans and Burkie sure love each other. hahaha

Under 4 mil a season? Nice, thought it would probably have been more.

Sounds like he accepted a slight paycut (and lower cap hit) in exchange for a longer term. Gotta hand it to Burke, the man is a master negotiator. Nice to see a player not be all about the money though--Liles definitely could've snagged stupid money on the open market, though probably not as long a term.

Someone commented the Leafs will be very close to the cap if they re-sign Grabovski and don't trade anyone presently on the roster. I'm sure Burke would trade Komisarek if he could.
