This probably should've gone in the "HERE COMES THE CHANGE EVERYBODY YUUUAAAGGGHH" thread but whatever...

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/f ... le1795029/

Just saw the video of The Reporters debating whether or not his departure will have any sort of discernible impact.

The guy deserves some, but not all, of the criticism he has received. Early on he certainly did for hiring the wrong people (JFJ among others) and then meddling in their affairs. But he obviously learned from those lessons and hired the best possible people available for the Raptors, Leafs, and FC, and got the hell out of the way. If those clubs continue to fail, it's not his fault, it's theirs.

And as far as MLSE goes from a business perspective the man's been an unmitigated genius. He's made the teachers PLENTY of money despite the fact that the on ice/field/court product sucks.

It actually might be a bad thing for the head guy to depart now since the new guy may want his own people in there and pull the plug. In Colangelo's case it's probably time, in Burke's case it'd be way premature.
