That it does not - I couldn't help but be happy for the kid when he put up an excellent performance & beat the Leafs a couple seasons back (dont' think it was his debut in net, but pretty close!)

As for 'where is this going' ....

This is where it's going; straight from the jackass' mouth:

(Edit - Razz beat me to it; same link posted in the Avs/Leafs gameday thread)

Also find it curious that Stajan, 3 PP goals & 2 PIM through 5 games & even more puzzling, Hagman, 2 goals, 1 assist & no PIM's thru 5 games were benched against Colorado. All when we have prized FA aquisition, Beauchemin whom leads the team with a -5, Jason Blake, 1 goal, 1 assist & -6, John Mitchell, 2 assists & -5 .... I could go on, but I won't.

On the ice, the best players have clearly been Rickard Wallin, Ian White and as much as I hate to say it, Ponikarovsky, whom amazingly is a +4.

The players that brought this team to an impressive preseason record are not all presently on the team. I'm talking about having Stalberg, Bozak, Hanson & Kadri all in the same game. From what I read from I believe Saskhab though; once a player is in Junior, they cannot be recalled by an NHL club?

In conclusion to my morning bitch; what a shit move trading Kubina (3 games, 3 assist, +3) for Exelby (3 games, -1). Just as a refersher, here's a breakdown:

27-Jul-09 Toronto Maple Leafs traded Colin Stuart, Anton Stralman and a seventh-round draft pick in 2012 to the Calgary Flames for Wayne Primeau and a second-round draft pick in 2011.

01-Jul-09 Atlanta Thrashers traded Garnet Exelby and Colin Stuart to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Pavel Kubina and Tim Stapleton.

This is all Kubina could bring in? Pfffffffttttttt .... whavever dude.

Maybe the rules changed in the last CBA, but Edmonton did it with Comrie back in the 2000-2001 season:

Again, though, correct me if I'm wrong but once the respective seasons of their junior clubs are over, they are once again eligible for callup. It would be kind of silly for either team to do so though.

Yes, I believe so. Hodgson was able to join the Moose for their playoff run once the Brampton Battalion's season was over.

BTW, where the hell are Kulemin and Tlusty? Surely they can't be any worse than what they've got right now.

Interesting article by Mirtle about Toskala being pretty much done. Very interesting stuff from Craig Button, musing about his time in Toronto and the Roman Turek contract the pretty much got him fired in Calgary.

But above all else this quote jumped right out at me.

Quote:
“When I got to Anaheim, I said never again will I be short on goaltending. Never again,” Burke told a Toronto radio station earlier this week.

Wow. That's about the closest I think I've heard him come to admitting that his undying, irrational loyalty to Dan Cloutier was a big mistake. Of course he'd never actually say that though.
