I don't see there being many options to move up much, and if we do it will only be a spot or two. Burke might be just looking to lock up the other Schen brother; I definately don't see a 1 or 2 spot in our future.

Burke is just blowing smoke, not sure who's butt it is for other GM's or media and fans. Thought if the Tampa pick fell out of top two we could make a play for it, not so sure now. I know Schenn is the popular pick due to the brother thing but not sure trading up to him over what is left at seven is needed. Guess it depends if the the Leafs are super sold on a certain player in that 3-6 spot, otherwise based on the mocks I've seen they may as well sit on seven and try and use Kaberle, Kubina, and 2nd rounders to try and add another 1st or two from teams in a win now mode.

You know the more I think of it Schenn and Hedman would be a good D-man pair to start your build from.

If Tampa wants to win now a package built around the 7th and Kabs could be a starting point to useful discussions.

every gm in the league is saying they will trade up if possible, its just good off season pr, and if they actually swing something so much the better; no one is gonna give away first or second slot, and i dont think we have the goods to get a trade done.
what im more curious about is what goes on with kaberle in the off season, anyone heard any whispers?

Your only half right Bumpy your missing the + Schneider part.

Seriously though Buddy, my guess is we keep Kabs and move Kubina. He'd be a good fit with the Blue Jackets, but who knows.

chelios is available!
i can hear people already saying he's too old and his game has dropped off; i see him as a great player/vetran we could sign for a year to bring up our youngsters. if we were willing to part with kaberle and kubina would could might be able to squeeze a top 2 pick, plus a couple players and another draft pick possibly. we're not going far this year anyways, and we know our goal is to develope talent and pick up future stars. maybe a trade like that would push out post season hopes, but if we swing good picks this year and next we could look to build a dynasty team! ya i said it!
oh ya, fletcher, you can suck it.

After seeing BB's reaction to the LA pick in the draft I'd love to play him in a game of poker.
