That's likely what will happen, and I'm fairly certain given the fallout of this RFA/UFA season that we're heading to yet another lockout because NHL teams are too stupid for their own good.
Either it ends in a buyout or it ends in a nice long LTIR "retirement." But no, I don't see him playing out the length of that contract.
