Kane looked comfortable in his brief audition in San Jose, but even his biggest fans would probably admit he's making quite a bit here. Then again, he's a 26-year-old free agent, so the world is his oyster. Needs to a 30-goal man going forward. |

Someone pointed out that he's the 7th-highest paid winger and has produced the 30th-most goals by a winger the past 3 years. I think there's more to it than just that(would need to focus on age/FA status), but holy hell that's a huge deal. |

Dude is injury prone, has a litany of off-ice issues, and I'm pretty sure before this season didn't even reach 50 points since a monster year in Winnipeg in 2011-12. He is anything but a safe bet. Sharks look kinda desperate here. |

This signing also suggests to me 1) the cap is going up and everyone is about to get PAID, and 2) teams don't think Tavares will go to market Sharks were, and still are, on the market for JT, but if he re-ups in Belmont Park they and a few other teams will have 10M burning holes in their pockets. |
