Wilson doesn't seem eager to make hasty decisions. If changes to coaching/management are to come, it's likely an ownership initiative.

Ties himself to the coach - wow. They may both be gone but somehow I doubt it.

What's going to happen with Boyle, Marleau and No-show? Anyone have their contractual status handy?

I'm guessing Havlat gets a compliance buyout and Boyle is a goner, which actually frees up a bit of cap space.

Marleau and Joe each re-signed during the season through to the 16/17 season. Burns also through 16/17 and Pavelski, Couture and Vlasic are locked up long term.

Like AV said Boyle is UFA and good as gone which frees up $6.7m! Havlat gets bought out 1 yr at $5m. Hannan also ufa and gone but only $1m.

Wingels, SHepperd and Braun are all RFA and should be resigned.

But ya, the Sharks will have some dough to spend on UFAs - could be exciting! Are there going to be any good D out there? Maybe offer sheet PK :fry: ?

Apparently Wilson said today that Boyle and Havlat won't be back and Burns is going back to defense. And Mclellan is staying, RObinson too with perhaps a bigger role.

Ya Havlat's entire time as a Shark was utterly useless, and unless Boyle had some kind of nagging injury he's done. At times in the playoffs it looked like he was skating in quicksand. I stuck up for him last year when people here were saying he's done but I finally saw the light, you guys were right.

Burns on D, I don't know, he was really fun to watch as a forward but a good forward is easier to replace than a good D.

I love having Robinson behind the bench for the Sharks, obviously. Next head coach if Mclellan gets the axe? That would be awesome (assuming he can coach of course)!

Boyle + Havlat = $11.7m - whatever buyout penalty for Havlat in cap space! Niskanen? Iginla? Vanek? Callahan? The Waterboy (Joe's cousin)?

I think the Sharks can amnesty buyout Havlat with no cap hit. Doesn't look like they've used any yet.

The hot stove is burning up with Marleau and Thornton NTC waiving rumours.

On Montreal radio, McGuire suggested Thornton to Chicago would be the perfect fit.

Ya its pretty sad actually, Sharks were 1 win away from sweeping the soon to be SCF champs and instead are maybe going into a rebuild.

Sharks are a very good team, sports and hockey more than most is also about luck. You need some bounces. Thorton and Marleau are really good players. The team though is a little behind LA/ Chicago and need the lucky breaks to overcome that. I certainly don't think they need a full rebuild but if they can get a good return on Thorton and Marleau it may be worth it but I suspect the cap raise is going to inflate salaries significantly and I'm not sure the Sharks can find UFA players as good for that price.

Tough call, I like big Joe, would like to see him retire as a Shark. It's a good team, that probably could have done better if Wilson had found a better goalie for them.

San Jose's SV% in the playoffs has been awful. Very rarely have they had an above average performance.

Yeah - I agree. It's hard to describe how such a talented team could be so unlucky year after year. It would seem this team has more to lose in the short term if they go into rebuild mode due to replacing Thornton and Marleau and finding experienced UFA players to fit the mold around the new core.

They also happen to be in hockey's toughest division by far.

Also, Logan Couture is kind of a dumbass.
