I hope this game goes to a 4th OT, so I can wake up and watch the end.

Sharks were coasting along, then cratered. The black box on this series will be interesting.

Lost game 4 in LA which was pretty expected given a proud LA team with their back against the wall. Lost Vlasic in the 1st period of game 5 and have been outscored 5-1 ever since. D exposed as Vlasic + a couple has-beens and some kids who aren't ready to step up.

OK, Vancouver fans, we get why you WANT Doug Wilson's job to be on the line right now. But yeah, it ain't.
 My guess is Jim Benning.

Anyways, if the Sharks choke tonight, I doubt they would change much of the player roster as they have surrounded the old core with a very good youg team (Burns, Couture, Hertl, Wingels). I would say ownership takes a long, hard look at Dougie Wilson but they retain him and McLellan definitely goes. Wilson's done a very good job in SJ.

The choke is complete.

For whatever reason this team isn't built right. The defence after Vlasic was poor, and Thornton was -6.

Bummer. Vlasic turns out to be the most important player on the team and Joe and Marleau just can't take it to the next level the way guys like Kopitar, Williams, Doughty and Stoll can. PLus Quick >>> Niemi. Kings are a tough team and legit Cup contenders but losing 4 in a row was tough to stomach.

Great teams can ring off winning, but 4 in a row to the same team is tough and as we see historically in the playoffs, not common. Wings saw this last year when they won 3 in a row to go up 3-1 on Chicago, and then lost the next 3 to lose the series in 7 and that was to the Stanley Cup winner.

But man, San Jose...right or wrong, it feels unsurprising that San Jose is the team to do this, and it felt inevitable that LA was going to win that game 7.

I can't really say much about this in the end. I felt the calls didn't go their way at points but in the end there just wasn't enough to combat the awesomeness of Doughty and Kopitar. The Kings' young forwards (Pearson/Toffoli) give them an element they didn't have in their Cup run that makes them more dangerous on the counter-attack. The Sharks have some old guys on D behind Vlasic and Demers that need to play less than they do, if they should play at all. MacLellan made some weird decisions but nothing too out of the ordinary from a NHL boss.

These are two very good teams. One took three straight, the other took four straight. Bizarre.
