Good point and that may be why the Pens have made downright ridiculous choices when it comes to coaching since Mario took over. From Ivan Hlinka (an attempt to appease Jagr) to Eddie Olczyk to this. Therrien was a bad choice too, but how long before we see Mario pull a Wayne and try to right the ship himself?
But then again we shouldn't just throw the Pens under the bus. The NHL by and large has been awful about promoting head coaches who have next to no experience--I guess they figure they'll be fired anyway, may as well just put a contract that won't be too cost prohibitive.
Actually Murray probably should've hired guys like this for the Sens...it's not like what he's doing now is any better.
