"Fun fact" from CapFriendly- The Coyotes have more 2023 draft picks (12) than they do signed roster players (11).

That's some crazy shit.

The Nemeth and Kassian buyouts surprised me. Not because of ability, but because the Yotes wouldn't just keep their cap hits on the roster to make the floor. What do they have planned?

I was wondering if they're going to try to bring in a bunch of young guys to play, then trade for old/injured cap mules to have a lower actual pay role, but a high AAV towards the salary floor. Maybe they'll sign P-Kane to an $8M contract and let him sit on the shelf while his hip recovers, if it recovers... Can they have insurance pay his salary if he's not on LTIR? And not just him, but any old/injured guys...

Yotes actually get a pretty decent player: Sean Durzi from LAK for the 2nd rounder they got in the Dvorak trade.

Yotes sign Cooley after some thoughts that he might stick at U of Minnesota for a while. Much ado about nothing.

Will Zona be not terrible next season? They added Cooley, Kerfoot, Zucker, Dumba, Durzi.

Once those guys hear individual voices at sold out home games, they'll fall into the groove with the team motto: Your biggest goal is to get traded the fuck out of here.

They all took the money, especially Dumba and Zucker who get to rehabilitate their values, but at least Zona had money to give!

Sure, they'll take the money. And at the time they were happy to do that. But when you can pick out the voice of the guy in the farthest back seat yelling at you to shoooooot on the PP, and the team is like 4-12, they'll start to realize they'd much rather be making that sort of money on a contender with a legit NHL arena. That's all I'm saying.

The Coyotes were quite good on home ice this year. They actually very much enjoyed playing in that arena.

End of the line in Zona? Kevin Weekes posted a cryptic pic of Salt Lake City on his Twitter, then Andy Strickland reported the league might announce this weekend they've bought out the current Yotes owner. At this point, it seems ludicrous to keep bankrolling this failed franchise, even Gary must realize that now. No reason for hubris with SLC billionaires ready to pony up.

Man, what is it with Arizona players getting in trouble with the drinking and drugs of late.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comment ... orce_seo=1

Adam Ruzicka, recently claimed off waivers from the Flames, filmed himself on IG obviously high as a kite on cocaine with a line and a glass vial in front of him. Yeesh. I get that coke is pretty prevalent in pro sports but ya don't have to be THAT brazen about it...

Been an absolute nightmare season for the Coyotes both on and off the ice, but tonight was a rare bright spot. Shane Doan’s son Josh scored twice in his NHL debut in a 6-2 victory at Mullett.

Daily Faceoff is reporting, and Elliotte Friedman is corroborating, that the NHL is prepping two schedules for next season: one in Arizona and one in Utah. This is happening. SLC would be a great hockey market. It's time.

So now I'm hearing that even if the Coyotes win that land auction in June, the move could still happen and the Coyotes could return as an expansion franchise. Yeesh.

Huh? Like the Coyotes move and become the Salt Lake City Sister Wives, then in 2 years when a new arena is built in AZ, a new Arizona Coyotes franchise pops up? 33rd team?
