The absolutely terrible offseason for the Flyers continues with top pairing, ageless Kimmo Timonen out due to blood clots in his lungs and right leg. In response, the team signed Michael Del Zotto.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=458766

Hextall then went on radio basically saying MDZ did what any young man with a lot of money in NYC would do and that's why he was a UFA. Welcome to Dry Island!

Basically the Flyers D is Braydon Coburn and a bunch of hopes and prayers, with the most promising prayer being a turning 37 year old Mark Streit.

I'm just waiting for them to run Couturier out of town and flip him for nothing.

Hextall has good credentials, he's just been dealt a shitty hand to start with. Didn't help with the Hartnell/Umberger thing, though it might point to Hextall thinking longer term.

They need to start drafting and developing quality dmen. They can't keep spending big bucks on overrated UFA guys.

Gostibehere might be ready. Hagg, Morin and Sandheim are long-term solutions.

And Flyer fans will like Ryan White, and forgive his occasional ill-timed transgressions.

So long as Snider keeps meddling, it doesn't matter who is in charge.

Both Coburn and MacDonald out for four weeks. Ouch.

Oh, those images popped up but the animation never happened. I guess the machine I was on earlier today just had a Flash issue or something.

I found that they weren't animating in the search results but if you clicked on the image then they would start. You can do an advanced search in google for GIF types too.

Andrew MacDonald. Vincent Lecavalier. Michael Del Zotto. Exactly how much total salary at this point has been sitting in Philly's press box?

Does Umberger count as sitting in the press box? Might as well be.

Rob Zepp! I think he was part of my LA Kings Goaltending Profile back in 2003.

He's slightly older than me (like six weeks or something), which is reassuring that the NHL can still produce a hotshot rookie that is older than me.

I can't read Rob Zepp without mistaking him for Lieutenant George Zip.
