I forgot about Mason. Maybe they will go with a Mason/Emery tandem. If I recall correctly Emery was a good fit in Philly during his previous stint and did well before he got a major injury. If he is better now maybe they take another chance given the season he had in Chicago.

Ha, at least it would be better than the Esche/Niittymaki tandem!

Vinny signs with the Flyers. Vinny did someone mention that your goalie is Steve Mason? Do you have zero interest in playing for the cup? I guess he got the long term deal he wanted and that was more important than another cup, have fun getting excited about the draft lottery next year.

I thought Vinny wanted stability? What a fraud.

I think he was referencing the stability of his bank account.

That contract may have a NMC, but it's still non-guaranteed.

The NHL CBA allows that? Wonder why he didn't just choose a 1yr contract instead if it's not guaranteed?

It was meant as a joke seeing as how the Flyers have bought out or traded nearly all the "lifetime" contracts that were on their roster.

The Flyers aren't even the 5th best roster in their division and they're over the cap. Should be a fun team to watch but man... this is the roster you're all-in with? Trying to get a top 4 spot with the Pens, Devils, Rangers, Caps, BJs, Isles and Whalercanes as your competition?

Homer isn't done yet boys so might want to hold off judgement a little bit.

Feels like very little plan and just snatching up shinny objects.

I know nothing but it looks like Colangelo's plan for the Raptors. Every offseason, throw a bunch of shit at the wall and see if anything sticks.

That's the point. The Flyboys are never done. Ever. They gut their roster seemingly every year anymore.

This will end badly for both parties.

Maybe someone can enlighten me, though I simply don't get it.

Philadelphia is a dump of a city. The people are assholes & there really isn't much to do once you're outside of the city. Plenty of other markets by far exceed the quality of life that Philadelphia has to offer. At $4.5 million over 5 yrs, I surmise some higher quality markets offered up a similar package.

This is a puzzling move. Vinny & his family will be downright miserable & I'm certain his play will reflect that.

I look forward to watching my team (and any other for that matter) pounding the shit out of the Flyers.

I'm lead to believe that Philly has some great areas just outside the city itself, but really most major cities all do.
