IMO, while great for some of the writers, consolidating journalists and hockey news behind a paywall wasn't good for the fans.
While I only subscribed to the Atlantic the first year.....its ironic that the cost is now astronomical with ads.
Gone are the days of free Puckdaddy (Wyshynski is semi-hidden behind ESPN+ paywall now) and I just never valued individual talking heads opinion enough to pay for it.
I find mainstream, matchsticks and gasoline and stanley cup of chowder (SB Nation), listening online and game viewing to be enough for me now. Of course the veteran minds of hockey around here are also a plus!
Maybe I will watch In the Crease now since I am on with ESPN+ but as for written coverage there isn't any need for me to pay for it when there are plenty of other free methods that deliver the same info.
So really the best/easiest place I have found to see schedules and standings is ESPN....
https://www.espn.com/nhl/scheduleCapfriendly for obvious reasons
https://www.capfriendly.com/I also like
http://www.naturalstattrick.com/https://www.matchsticksandgasoline.com/ is a good site for the Flames
https://www.stanleycupofchowder.com/ for the B's
The Score IMO is the best sports app out there and the comments section is a downright entertaining cesspool of humanity (think faceoff).
Their website is trash though so stick to the app
https://www.thescore.com/If you are into mixing societal issues with your hockey news sportsnet or tsn will always do you right and they are always good to glance at.
