couldn't quite find a good thread to stick this in and too lazy to spend more than 2 minutes searching for the right one.

Radio waves from space arrive every 16.5 days. could it be aliens communicating?

Well hopefully "temporarily captured" means just that and it keeps going on its merry way....otherwise something of that size is lights out for the humans.

It's been there 3 years, and if does leave orbit it will be away from earth as the rotational energy would sling shot it out.

I don't think that's a dangerous size...and if it's already orbiting, it won't be a direct, high-speed hit from a solar orbit, I would think.

Ha! METERS! The asteroid is likely between 6.2 feet and 11.4 feet in diameter

Well, the humans live on for now. Watching a black and white screen with white smudges while a really smart guy with an accent narrates isn't exactly made for TV.

Maybe next time!

A multinational partnership is coming together to build the world's largest telescope, the Giant Magellan, which, like the Webb, will attempt to peer into the depths of the universe.

And it blowed up.

Oh sorry, it suffered a "rapid unscheduled disassembly."

Weird scene having all the engineers cheer as it exploded. I get that there was no one on board (thank God) but I'd still be pretty bummed if I were them. Oh well, I suppose if you have the richest man on the planet funding you, you can afford to explode a few rockets.

yeah that was weird...I missed the damn eclipse....apparently it was at the same time. I was like...this thing is doing loopty loops.....not good. They were happy as hell....definitely not the disgruntled Tesla employees I talk to about my solar panels.
