I can't really remember getting many updates.

I've only lent to women so far, and I tend towards agriculture(sustainability) and textiles. I've noticed that quite a few loans now are women applying for a loan for their husbands. I wonder if that was due to the repayment by dudes being so much worse than women, so men are getting less loans filled. I have zero data to back that up.

Mine have only been positive updates. That's totally shitty. Micro-insurance might be something to look into.

Maybe we can piggyback that with micro derivatives. We'll package all our shit sub prime loans as collateralised debt obligations, sell them on the open Kiva market as AAA rated loans, let the insurance part of the package be traded too so that nobody will know who is holding the insurance liability when the loans fail. We can hedge our bets on their failure with some credit default swaps while keeping our good loans. We'll make out like bandits.

Got enough credit/loans now that I should be able to do a new loan every month with the repayments I receive. I have yet to have anyone default on a loan :) My activity up until last year was pretty sad. I've got a ways to go to catch up to a bunch of you guys.

Sent an invite to some OTP folks on twitter that I don't think are on our team.

I'm at 10 active loans right now after a binge (though one is almost 100% repaid, so it's more like 9). This should be enough to keep on top of things monthly as well. Feel this is a pretty good use of some of my new money this month. And I loaned to India, which you don't get back for 3 years as per regulations, but they do use the repayments to fund other projects in the meantime so even if I don't 'see it' that money is helping.

I've now lent out $575.00 and lost only $0.55 due to currency exchange.

Current loans in: Phillipines, India, Haiti, Tajikistan, Mali
Fundraising (pending): Pakistan, Colombia, Uganda, El Salvador, Kenya
Past loans (10): Kenya, Togo (x2), Mozambique, Ecuador, Philippines, Senegal, Nicaragua, Kyrgzystan, Nigeria, Ghana (our original pub)

My pending Uganda one is another pub, mostly I've stuck with pretty basic food sales/agriculture/clothing/retail, but I threw in a photographer/graphic designer from Colombia this time as well as the pub.

For the last while, I was putting any repayments back into a new loan to top up. I got a full repayment earlier so I topped up a second loan and after doing 3 more yesterday I'm up to $500 loaned with 11 loans outstanding and two fundraising.

No currency loss or delinquent yet.

Sask I'm in the same boat as you with sales/agriculture/clothing/retail, but I did a couple of furniture makers(one in Colombia who was going to pay it all at the end but has already made two repayments) and one in Vietnam.

Less free money available with Leila being born, but fuck. It's not a lot and I wasn't adding nearly as much as I should have been earlier.

Yeah, starting to notice more currency exchange losses now. I have a loan to Mali that is now repaying about $7 under the listed payment per month. And another from Tajikistan also is in currency exchange loss. Started really losing on exchange in February.

I don't care, although it means I can't lend out as much when I'm repaid. Just a thing with the $USD being very strong right now.

I'm at 29 total loans with 2 defaults. I have $0.79 in currency loss but that does not bother me. I currently have 4 active loans. Almost all of my loans have an emphasis on women / women's groups in Africa. I have, over time, deposited $102 USD that I have just kept rolling it back into new loans when others have finished paying back. Most of my loans are in pubs and agriculture.

We have been lending as a team since March 28, 2007 when we made our 1st loan to Augustina's Pub. Most of our loans are to Africa with 57 loans, followed by Asia with 55 loans and South America with 39 loans. Well done lads.

For some reason my first two loans weren't credited to the OTP team, so there's actually $50 more there we can claim as a group. :)

Iris is taking her sweet time coming up with the lempiras to pay me back, but once she's repayed the loan I'll get back in there.

Yeah I have a few that weren't as well. Looks like we hadn't established a team until Jan 20, 2009. Looks like I had 2 loans before we started the team(one was Augustina's pub) and then one where I didn't attribute it to the team.

The Canadian government is matching donations made to certain organizations for Nepal relief. I know Canadian Red Cross, Doctors without Borders and Plan Canada at least are getting matched.
