If anyone wants something to listen to this weekend, a couple of reissues: Prince and the Revolution Live 1985 and Bob Marley and The Wailers Live at the Rainbow 1977 were added to streaming. Two giants at the tops of their games, both live albums sound stellar.

One of my favorite albums from my teenage years, the Gin Blossoms' New Miserable Experience, turns 30 today.

So many good songs on this one. Hey Jealousy, Found Out About You, Alison Road, and so on.

Stopped in the Belleville Arby's for an early lunch driving out to a wedding. This comes on.

I have no idea if it was satellite radio or spotify or what, but I've never heard My Morning Jacket on the radio here.

He was pretty good in the 90's too.

Was at that show. Brilliant.

I was a bit iffy on it at first but it’s growing on me with each subsequent listen.

In sad news from my childhood, it appears that Daryl Hall is suing John Oates because the latter wishes to sell his share of the rights to their music, and Daryl can't go for that, no.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dar ... xFrUnLIsTT

I cannot believe Daryl Hall is seventy-freakin'-seven years old.

I heard on the radio that anyone who's seen them live says you can tell they actually don't like one another despite being a wildly successful duo for over 50 years.

This show was fucking awesome.

Surprise opener was Dashboard Confessional, which was pretty cool.

Sparta came out, played the hell out of Wiretap Scars, thanks and goodbye. No idle chit-chat, just played.

Moneen was who everyone was there to see, and they did not disappoint. Just an absolute joy to watch play. I'm not sure that there is a frontman who can match Kenny's energy playing guitar and singing. The guy just loves to play, and man can they play.

We ponied up an extra 20 bucks for 2 mezzanine seats and a table. Food and booze service at the table. Well worth it.

Tool can also fucking play. Saw them, would go again.

I loved The Prodigy. Pretty funny how they were set up. Basically one guy provided all the music and the other two shouted out some words and did some crazy-ass shit on stage.

MGB could write and play the shit out of songs. Even the early stuff like Last of the Ghetto Astronauts and Raygun had some bangers.

Hook that extended Symbolistic White Walls additional verse directly to my veins.

Matt Good sabotaged his own career and chance at broader success outside of Canada, but those first three MGB albums are stone cold classics, and he had everything to become a star. This show is proof of that.

Basically wouldn't cater/deal with anything in the music industry to a big detriment for the band. E.L. can probably expand on it better, but like actively doing things that just made it worse.

He was eventually diagnosed bipolar. Dealt with depression.

Also had accusations of emotional manipulation and abuse from an ex recently. I doubt to the surprise of many.

His solo stuff wasn't nearly as good in my opinion as the Matthew Good Band stuff(as E.L. said, Underdogs, Beautiful Midnight, and Audio of Being are all excellent). MGB could put out radio hits, great albums, and he was a frontman.

Basically he got skittish anytime an opportunity in the US came up. Acted like a dick in interviews with US (including talking explicitly about sex with Seventeen magazine) and turning down touring opportunities at the last minute.

Fear of success is a real thing in the art world, and I think in addition to his many other mental problems he was afraid of blowing up.
