Yeah, it sucks we're at the age where some of the acts we grew up listening to are clearly past their primes.

Glad Billy Joel still has it. Hobbled around on stage like an retired NFL player on metal knees, but could still belt out his best songs just fine.

I heard he put on a fine show here in Denver. Wish I had seen that.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. Even slung on a guitar and jammed out on AC/DC (one of the roadies actually did vocals). Performed a ton of songs and still had to leave out a few hits.

Last minute decided to get tickets for Alice and Motley Crue tonight. Scored 4th row seats. I love Alice! :mulletbutch:

Alice was,as he always is, AMAZING! Tommy Lee didn't play (wrist injury supposedly). Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx were great. Vince sings like he had Tommy's dick in his mouth.

Alice was my main reason for going so no disappointment on my part.

Going to see Postmodern Jukebox in Toronto in next month. Enjoy most of their youtube videos and have read they are a great live act and was looking for an excuse to ditch the kids for a night. ;)

Going to see them again this Sunday in Buffalo after having a great time seeing them in Toronto in June. Their "Shtick" works better live than on their YouTube videos, which I suspect is a product of the quality of musicians they have in the group/collective which is not always the case with successful YouTube music acts.

So we went to the Vogue Theatre on Granville not far from where we met Joe and Tom all those years ago to see Nick Lowe's Holiday Revue with Los Straightjackets. The opening group were a pair of brothers from Minneapolis who call themselves The Cactus Blossoms who are heavily influenced by The Everly Brothers. Across the aisle and one row back from us were four reserved VIP seats. The show was booked as general admission and first come first served. As the Cactus Blossoms hit the stage, in comes Elvis Costello, Diana Krall and their two boys to sit in those chairs. Costello is within spitting distance from where I'm seated. The Blossoms were good but not my cup of tea, the missus likes them a lot. Out comes Nick Lowe and does three acoustic songs before being joined by Los Straightjackets and they do about four songs before Nick goes for a refresher. If you haven't see Los Straightjackets before, check them out on YouTube. They are great and hilarious at the same time and the main reason I was at the Vogue. Lowe did do "Cruel to be Kind" and "I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock 'n' Roll" before he finished the evening doing an acoustic version of his friend in the audience's "Allison". But his friend by that time wasn't there as Elvis, Diana and the boys had left their seats about three songs into Lowe's set.

That's awesome. Too bad Elvis left the building so soon.

Slash, Axl Rose and Duff together again as GnR for this year's Coachella.

Anyone excited about this? Is the old magic still there?

I saw GnR in my youth and did not really see much magic with them live back then, when Axl Rose finally decided to show up. Slash seemed to be more a victim than contributor of the mess though to his credit.

I see the Peter Gabriel/Sting show at the Bell Centre has already sold out.

Erik, didja get a ticket?

I'm hoping to snag a seat for the Denver show in July, but not gonna hold my breath. If I do get to go it'll be my third time seeing PG, and technically 2nd time seeing Sting. Of course the first time was on the Police tour so he'll be doing completely different material.

Sting. Ugh.

I review a lot of shows for the newspaper, so if I get in that way, cool. If not, also cool. Lots of shows this summer.

I'm hoping PG is the 2nd act. He'd have to be, wouldn't he?

Black Sabbath was f'n awesome. The good thing about having a voice like Ozzy's is that it hard to tell when it sucks. At 67 years of age......I was impressed. Geezer and Tony tore it up.

If you get a chance I highly recommend it because they are all knocking on the door.

Yeah a friend of mine thought it was awesome when they were here in NE a few weeks back, though he didn't have many kind words for the opening band.
