Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain. Looks awesome and confusing, but what else can be expected from Hideo Kojima?

Apparently there is a remake of Final Fantasy VII as well. This E3 has been pretty awesome from the sound of things.

But Fallout 4. Holy shit.

New Mass Effect, apparently almost completely divorced from the previous trilogy. I still have yet to go back and play the updated ending from ME3.

Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain out today. On PC too, with the same release date as the other platforms.

Looks like my video card and ram are good for running the game. Looks like my CPU might be on the slow side, and upgrading will be on the fairly expensive side for an LGA1155 socket CPU. Be even more expensive to go LGA1150 CPU+MB. I'm going to buy a new CPU cooler and try overclocking my i5 2500K and see what happens. Hopefully I won't fry the absolutely shit out of it and have to upgrade anyway.

The other option is to buy the PS3 version if the PC version doesn't perform well on my box and I do the Steam refund.

Weird that this PC(except for the vid card and the SSD) is nearly 4 years old already.

I started over again at ME1 about a month ago...midway through 2.

I can't remember if I got around to finishing ME3. It's the sort of game you play non-stop for a few days, but if something comes up and you have to stop for an extended period of time, it's hard to get back in. The tension of the story sorta goes away.

Totally agree that's why I am attempting to tackle all of them in a row again without letting weeks go by. I also did not finish ME 3 with the updated ending so I suppose that will be new or somewhat different.

New heatsink is in the PC. It's already operating on overclock so my i5 2500K 3.3Mhz under a stress test is up to 4.2Mhz and the temps are sitting nicely in the mid-60s. In the 40's while Phantom Pain is running. Settings mostly high with a couple of Mediums. Beauty.

Phantom Pain is open world. I do certain things, and I'm left to wonder what, if any, consequences there will be. It's pretty cool so far.

On PC, you can use the keyboard and mouse. However, the keyboard mappings are NOWHERE to be found. Except in the main menu before you start the game, apparently. Not in the Pause menu. Not in the freaking PC manual online. Seriously, how difficult would it be to show this? It's programmed. List it somewhere

Phantom Pain is awesome. They brought back a whole bunch of fun elements of Peace Walker(what a concept! Bringing back shit that people like!).

You can get dropped into the map with no mission selected and wander around, or you can get dropped for a mission. If you drop onto the map, you can select a mission and get to the start point to activate it. Collect resources, find goodies, build shit, capture/bring in units.

JackFrags is a very popular FPS YouTube gamer that I follow from the UK. He has no clue about hockey but decided to play NHL16 - his commentary is hilarious here...

I'm starting Dark Souls 2 again. I need to beat it eventually.

60+ hours into Phantom Pain and no signs of slowing down. And Fallout 4 playable tomorrow. Not going to need another game for a loooong time...

Bethesda, makers of Fallout, are opening a studio in Montreal. That means Ubisoft, EA, Warner Bros, Eidos, Square Enix, BioWare and now Bethesda are here. All the big boys.

Put this in the NBA thread as well.

http://www.theplayerstribune.com/gordon ... deo-games/

Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz writes about video games. And not sports games.

Best Buy is still overselling the bundles for Pre Order though. That's where I ordered mine.
