Hey, I need to purchase one about now, too... good thread bump.

The reddit threads are good reads. Dude swears by Mieles. He hasn't gotten a sales rep job from them yet, but apparently they've told him that they've tracked the number of people buying their vacuums through his reddit threads and I think it's over 100.

Well, my Dyson DC23MH's first power hose assembly went right before the 5-year warranty was up. Powerhead was cutting out. Now, about 3 years later, the second one is cutting out. Replacement is $160.

The Dyson Cordless I bought for $350's battery seems to be done on the max setting now after 3 years. Less than 2 minutes run time.

Mom-in-law had a problem with her first cordless that they replaced too.

Overall, not happy at all with Dyson right now. I'll see what it's going to cost to replace the battery on the cordless. That I can understand wearing out but the power hose assembly thing is pretty bullshit. But at $160 for the power hose assembly that lasts 2-3 years apparently, I'm leaning towards buying a Miele or Riccar.

Shark Rotator TruePet Upright Corded Bagless Vacuum for Carpet and Hard Floor with Powered Lift-Away Hand Vacuum and Anti-Allergy Seal (NV752)

I bought this bad boy 2 years ago for $200 on an Amazon deal of the day......

Best Vacuum I have ever owned....even over my Dyson. Bought it primarily for low pile carpet in the basement. Does an excellent job with pet hair and works well on stairs. So so on hardwood (Dyson Multi is better).

Replaced the battery on the Dyson cordless and its lasted well, but the brushroll basically won't work anymore. Opened it up, could be the converter thing that powers the gear that spins the belt.

Had some costco credit so decided to try out this Miele.

A little heavier than the Dyson with a longer runtime. Hopefully will last a long time.

roborock Q5 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Strong 2700Pa Suction, Upgraded from S4 Max, LiDAR Navigation, Multi-Level Mapping, 180 mins Runtime, No-go Zones, Ideal for Carpets and Pet Hair

Supplement with one of those cordless stick vacs for stairs and places the robovacs can't go and its goodbye to vacuuming as you know it!

This Q5 is the business!

Let me know about that Miele...I am in the market for a decent cordless stick vac (my early ones also didn't last long). I was looking at the Eureka Rapid Clean or the Shark....but for right now I still have stand up cleaners hanging around.
