I took the week before off to take a course at BCIT's downtown campus. It's been awhile since I left the 'burbs to go into downtown Vancouver. What a disappointment. Granville Street is a joke. Sure, the big dig now located at Dunsmuir and Granville is disrupting things but the rest of Granville has been abandoned of most human activity. Seymour isn't much better. Throw in the war zone that is East Hastings and we are inviting the world in 18 months to see what?

Holy shitballs! I saw an amazing show last night. Now if Vancouver wouldn't shut down every single live venue we could have a scene. Why are we so opposed to live music?!?!? There are a shit load of good bands out here with no places to play!!! FFUUCCKK!!

Wolf Parade at the Asbury Hall was a tremendous show. The Buffalo crowd was really into the band, which wasn't the case the last time they played Montreal, since that crowd was made up of friends of the band and people who were there to look fashionable (MTL was a much bigger venue too).

Oh YEAH! One of the guys on Alex's soccer team is from Scotland. I melt a little bit every time he speaks. RAWR!! He's such a little cutie, too.

On an entirely different note... 19yr old boys are GROSS! Gave a couple of Alex's (very young) teammates a ride home from a party on Friday, and I don't think I have ever heard so many references to 3-somes in such a short space of time before. I hope that girl they were meeting at the gas station stood them up. dicks.
