Hard to believe we are seeing such gross incompetence in at least THREE front offices that have such ridiculously good job security. The two GMs that got fired this offseason IMO deserved it but neither of those guys came even close to wreaking the havoc Bergevin, Chiarelli, and Dorion have.

I read the first half of that sentence and thought I'd quote you and add "and the Isles aren't one of them!!!" Then you hinted that Snow deserved to be fired...

I imagine this is yet another non-event from the Sens but...

#Sens general manager Pierre Dorion will address this media this afternoon at the club's Dallas hotel.

Someone on HF nailed it: "Now the press has gotta drag themselves over to the La Quinta."

GM Dorion on why he traded Hoffman. "We had to trade Mike Hoffman. Our dressing room was broken."

Hoffman joins the list of the ever-growing "Curse of Matt Duchene." Duchene doesn't necessarily click with just any ol' linemates (he and Landeskog were positively horrid, and both he and MacKinnon didn't click at all at first, though oddly did so when they shifted Dutchy to wing and MacK to center). Yet every time he does find great chemistry with someone, something happens to end his tenure with the team.

Chris Stewart - Breaks hand in fight, traded to STL after reported off-ice issues
Tomas Fleischmann - Blood clot disorder, not re-signed by team
P.A. Parenteau - Traded
Ryan O'Reilly - Traded
Nail Yakupov - This time it was Duchene who was traded
Mike Hoffman - Traded amidst an off-ice fiasco that destroyed the team's season

Alex Burrows, the man who tied the room together, has been bought out.

Posted this elsewhere but...you know you're a really bad GM when even Jim "Just for Men" Benning manages to hoodwink you.

Word has it Eugene Melnyk secured a loan for $135 million, but it looks like he didn't get it in time.

As a fan of another team, I really hope Melnyk keeps the Sens. His circus makes the Isles look normal.

Can’t wait for Pierre Dorion to call another presser to say absolutely nothing.

Karlsson low-balled. As good as gone.

Jesus H. Christ, how does bad shit keep happening to the Sens both on and off the ice?

https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-ne ... o-recovery

Not trying to belittle this poor woman's ordeal, but you can bet there will be a lawsuit forthcoming. Her father is a prominent lawyer and she's already retained the services of an attorney.

Fuck me, a totally outrageous series of events. Difficult to determine from this article just how bad the injuries were, as not all is healed -- but sounds awful. Thompson, while not outright negligent was clearly culpable of some very poor decision making. Don't play with fire kids.

I'm reading that the "done deal" Simmer was reporting earlier between the Bolts and Sens was all but done but Melnyk stepped in and killed it because he insisted Bob Ryan's deal still be included. Take it with a grain of salt, but it sure seems very Sens-ish.

Hear the Sens now have that same done deal with the Stars for Karlsson and Ryan.

Since things have completely died off there's been rampant speculation that the "rumored" deals were nothing more than Dorion leaking false information in a desperate attempt to spark a bidding war. He has zero leverage and everyone knows it.

Yeah but when he really goes to move him, there likely will be a bidding war, as nobody wants a division rival to get Karlsson.

Sens have no one but themselves to blame for that. Kept selling him to the fans as a star-in-the-making, now he wants to be paid like one.

Also, both sides know the arbiter just splits the difference. There needs to be a complete overhaul of how this is done.

Now Stone wants 9M in Arby's. For a nickle and dime team, going to Arby's with two players sounds completely idiotic but what do I know, clearly not as much as great geniuses Melnyk and Dorion.
