Good on Dorion for making an aggressive move and picking up offseason jewel Alex DeBrincat.

DeBrincat and now Giroux! The Melnyk daughters are killing it!

Norris and Stutzle locked in at big money, long-term: Norris at 7.9M for 8 years, and Timmy at 8.35M for 8 years after his ELC runs out.

Tkachuk is already signed long-term. It's great to see Ottawa keep these guys.

Sens are not popping like they thought they would and now they're willing to package Nikita Zaitsev's anchor of a deal with a high pick.

Lottery teams come on down!

Well because it never feels like anything can just be normal in Sensland they’re reporting that Troy Mann might be guilty of…espionage?

https://twitter.com/clahanna/status/162 ... L7mR19jf1g

What makes it even more fun is that Mann’s brother is the AGM.

Dorion can make a splash, I'll give him that. Stole Chychrun from the money launderers.

What an absolutely pathetic return after all the hubbub about two first rounders and a prospect blah, blah, blah. In the end all a team had to say was "Okay, we'll take the full contract, no retention." Jesus Christ.

Anyone else hear there are 2 groups trying to buy the Sens- one led by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, etc) and another with Snoop Dogg as the front man? This could get interesting! Price is over $1 Billion.

If Snoop buys they'll probably have For Hims ads on the jerseys, which will make me chuckle. They could have a weekly report on the team called THE CHRONICal. Snoop says he wants to being hockey to the black community. I'm all for that but is Ottawa the right place to make that happen? I've never been there but everything I've ever seen of Ottawa looks pretty vanilla...

Sens wait out the market and grab The Tank for one year. Nice bit of work.

This team should be better, but the Korpisalo move still feels like a big risk to me.

Not a terrible replacement for DeBrincat.

The Sens IIRC were really freakin' good on special teams, but even strength play and goaltending were their downfall. Not sure anything will change going into next season but they might be (kinda) on the right track.

Still hard to believe anyone absolutely evaluating goaltending as badly as Pierre Dorion has. After a gigantic swing-and-miss on Matt Murray, the Sens trade away Filip Gustavsson for Cam Talbot. Gustavsson emerges as a legit star goaltender in Minnesota, meanwhile Ottawa can't part ways with Talbot soon enough.

Now...Korpisalo!?!? Apart from last year he's been objectively terrible.

Another one locked up: Geoff Sanderson's kid Jake gets 8x8.05M AAV.

Stutzle, Norris, Tkachuk, Chabot, Sanderson, Batherson now locked up long term. Is that enough to win?

WE GOT DRAMA!!!!

Ottawa dinged a 1st round pick (they have three years to give it up) for failing to disclose the trade protection in Evgeny Dadonov's contract to Vegas.

And now it looks like Pierre Dorion is paying for that mistake with his job.

New owner says the league didn't inform him of this investigation or the Pinto investigation before he paid just about $1 Billion for the team. Holy shit. Could you imagine how pissed he is?

"Welcome to the league! Now that the ink is dry, uhh, there are two small matters that are going to royally fuck you over that we should now bring to your attention..." -Gary Bettman, possibly. But probably not.

Fucking christ. Impossibly short sightedness again from the league looking for maximum short-term $. Bettman's a lawyer, for fucks sake. How did they honestly think "Well we just won't tell him about it and then see what happens afterwards" would go? Just an incredible way to treat a newly minted owner.

Nobody said Bettman is a good lawyer. But yeah, this is horribly short sighted.

What's old is new again: Jacques Martin and Daniel Alfredsson are back, the latter of course as an assistant.

The funny thing is, Martin is 72 IIRC, and looks the exact same as he did back in 1995 when he still worked for the Avs.

Clearly keeping his championship ring safe and secret.

New coach bump didn't even last a single game. Sens roared out to an early lead and proceeded to blow it in a 4-3 loss to the mighty Arizona Coyotes.

There's footage of a Sens forward (Kastelic I think) casually making his way off the ice and getting an earful from Daniel Alfredsson as soon as he's through the door.
