I like how Crosby makes that "oh stoooooooop, I didn't do anything at all" face when Methot talks to him right afterward.
The next video to auto-play is Crosby giving a cup check to O'Reilly.

Geez that sucks for Methot. That looks like a slash that could get delivered so many times, but you catch the guy in just the right spot...

Melnyk of course is going Full Melnyk.

For once I can't say I blame him. Are they seriously not even going to CONSIDER a suspension?

They may have considered it, but aren't going to do it. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl-not-looking-into- ... n-1.705242

It's Crosby. Did you seriously expect him to be suspended? In all seriousness though, it doesn't "look" like a bad slash. But considering how often they weigh injury as a deciding factor in suspensions... And can anyone imagine if this went the other way, and Methot took off part of Sid's finger with a routine looking slash??? Mario would threaten to leave the league again.

But it is odd how the Senators are so often on the receiving end of these odd injuries.

The injury depleted Sens tried to call up top prospect D Thomas Chabot from the juniors but couldn't because his team is still in the playoffs and it wasn't officially considered an emergency:

The Sens called him "arguably the best defenceman outside the NHL right now." I would concur.

Quite the interesting stat line for one of Chabot's teammates:
