Last week Art Staple of Newsday said the Isles weren't going to toll Thomas' contract. Now rumor is he wants to return to the NHL. If that's true, the Isles could either keep his rights, trade him, or do the "nice" thing & let him become a UFA. If they just let him go to be a UFA I'll be pissed. Either try him out or trade him for something. Nobody really knows what he'll be like if he tries to play again after a year off, but you can't just let him walk.

If Thomas wants to be a UFA, he picked a dumb time to announce that he wants to return. Unless he'd be happy playing for the Isles under his old contract. Who knows? Maybe he's that crazy.

There will be a lot of goalies up for grabs if the rumors are true. Personally I'd take a flyer (pun intended) on Bryzgalov. Dude's better than what he showed in Philly, and if Bobrovsky is any indication, Philly might have the worst goaltending coach in the league.
