I love that the new CBA forced the Isles to smarten up to wait on their top draft picks. And I love it because it allowed Snow to show his chops in identifying the AHL guys who could play in the NHL that he had shown so well previously (Moulson, Parenteau, Grabner, other Andy Mac) by adding Hickey , Strait, and Aucoin. Also nice to see Bailey coming around after being the first Snow era cap related victim of the 'play our top prospect' philosophy.

It's also hilarious that they are doing this with Garth Snow level netminding.

Nabokov has been pretty darn good lately. And when he wasn't vs Winterpeg, Visnovsky bailed him out. Funny, how the two guys who didn't want to go to the Isles are such a big party of this run.

Yes I was thinking the same, some of the best series ever were early 80's Caps vs Isles. I'm actually quite excited about the return to division playoffs next year.

This time I think both fan bases will just be happy to have made it to the playoffs, anything else is bonus.

Damn straight. I don't think the Isles will beat the Caps, unless the Caps' goalies go MIA, which is possible. And would be nice. But I think they can make it at least 6 games.

Tell you one thing, sure am glad that prick Hunter isn't still their coach. That clip is going to be all over the place if this matchup happens.

I was in high school last time the Isles won a playoff round. My 20th reunion is this year. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I'm happy for you Chris. I had to live through the Dead Wing era in the 1970's and early 1980's and I know how much that sucked. I hope the Islanders get a nice long run in the playoffs. Long suffering Islander fans deserve that.

I'm too lazy & un-computer-savvy to enjoy the avatar bet. As an outsider for many years, it got kind of old to watch. And as Av says, most people turn them off, or move the window to the side so as not have to see the avatars (especially at work, where most of you e-loaf all day).

And thank you RW. I appreciate it. I don't think they'll win a round, but I sure as hell hope they can, and get the 2 decade long curse off their backs.
