Good luck there too. And good luck to young Ryan. Keep kicking ass kid, and see you next year.

And so it goes...Nino has officially requested a trade.

Guess he wasn't cool with not even getting an invite to camp I assumed he was in on that decision. Could certainly see how this kid has lost confidence with his situation.

I wouldn't honour that request at all. I mean, it was a dick move not to bring him to camp, but tough shit, Nino.

1point in 55 nhl games and a point/game pace in the ahl does not earn one the right to demand a trade, kid. I get that he feels snubbed, but pay your dues, keep plugging away and you'll get a shot to prove them wrong.

Do the Islander save cash keeping him down this year?

Nino makes less than Keith Aucoin, so yes.

In fact, the new CBA eliminates the ability for teams to reach the cap floor through performance bonuses. The Isles waiver wire spree reflects this sudden change in philosophy against giving young guys with high performance bonuses a shot instead of borderline players on cheap deals.

His agent claims responsibility for the trade demand, which is pretty obviously BS, but a nice gesture anyway.

Nino is at the AHL All Star Game. Either shut up & keep playing where the Isles put you, or make a huge splash and increase your trade value.

And now, Nino has declined to go to Isles prospect mini-camp. He has every right to, as he's been to 3 of them now, but it probably won't sit well with management. I expect to see him packaged for a goalie on draft day. Some players just don't jive with management... He's a good player. I wish him well, unless he's traded within the division.
