For Steven Santini, Jeremy Davies and two 2nds. No money moved in the deal.

I like it for NJ.

Wow. NJ really going for it now. The Metro is going to be tough this year.

I think P.K.'s prime has passed, he's probably on the decline now, and New Jersey is hoping like hell it's nowhere near as steep as his final season in Nashville suggests.

I'm absolutely astounded that the Subban experiment in Music City only lasted three years and all they got out of it was one SCF appearance. Either he's not as good as they suggest, or the Preds weren't as good as they suggest. The truth may lie somewhere in the middle. He wasn't a great fit when I thought he'd be the perfect fit. He and Josi did not complement one another well at all. And his underlying numbers, which should have just exploded under a better coach with a faster system, actually trended downward.

I don't think Montreal "won" the deal, and I'm positive those final seasons will end up being LTIR'd like all the others have been  , but they still come out of this looking better than Nashville, and that is really something.

Regardless, I really like what Shero did here. He took advantage of a chaotic cap situation and got a legit top-flight defender for cheap. AND, his contract expires right when it's time to re-up Jack Hughes.

Severson, Subban, Vatanen, and (maybe) Ty Smith. That's a pretty good defensive corps.

The Montreal Canadiens have won two playoff games since the trade.

Implying they would have won more than two had he stayed?

I absolutely hate the fact that the trolls who are convinced Subban is an arrogant jerk and locker room cancer think this trade vindicates them and Bergevin/Montreal. It just came down to a bad cap situation and numbers.

PK Subban and his new fiancee hosted a charity spin class at my gym in Montreal last week.

Seats for those classes were out of my price range and I didn't have the time to raise money, but watching videos of PK and Lindsey Vonn drinking champagne in my tiny little spin class was pretty surreal. They raised a shit ton of money.

One hell of a power couple. Good for them. And I'm glad P.K. continues his charitable works in Montreal. That's something.

It's early, but PK looks like he's back: averaging 28 tough minutes a night, really setting a physical tone.

Hughes, BTW, has gone OFF. Dude's a star.

I never had a doubt. His NTDP teammate Trevor Zegras may be better suited for the NHL, but I never thought for a second that Hughes wasn't going to cut it. Way too skilled, way too good of a skater.

I'm starting to get a little worried about Kaako though...but he needs a coach that doesn't suck before I get really concerned.

But anyway, glad to see PK is finding his game again, I've always been a big fan of his. Certainly deserves a break after his engagement with Lindsey Vonn fell apart.

PK wins the King Clancy. We all know about the charitable work he does.
