That the Habs are in it or that the Knights are in it?

That the Habs are in it, but also that the divisions aligned for the two teams to meet.

It all seems so unlikely, but very awesome.

I'm looking forward to it.

For me it was the Knights. I was convinced the Avs would walk right into the final four.

The North was always going to be a bit of a crap shoot. Given the Habs busy off season a lot of pundits had them dominating this season, which they did early - and then they didn't - and then they did again.

You could definitely see the blueprint for them to get through the first two rounds against these teams.

Not only did the Habs and Knights not meet in the regular season, they played completely different competition with irregular schedules. We think the Knights are better and played better opponents, but we really don't know.

Also, the Knights are another team that might not be able to match the Habs' four lines, which are all rolling right now with Tatar and Evans waiting in the wings. The Habs stuffed the top-heavy, talented Leafs and Jets by having Danault negate their top line, then beat them with their three scoring lines. One big difference: the Knights can overwhelm them physically.

I think this will be a tough series. And don't count out Perry, who played them last year. He'll be integral.

I give Fleury full credit for making the big saves in that series but he was by no means perfect in the series against the Avs. Gave up a LOT of rebounds, fought the puck a bit, and gave up a few goals here and there he definitely would've liked to have had back. If it comes down to the guys between the pipes, then Montreal wins this.

I do look forward to seeing what happens when fourth line goes up against fourth line, because Corey Perry should have his way with the Vegas depth forwards.

It's going to be really fun to have you rooting for Corey fucking Perry in this next series.

I can't wait to see what he does to their depth players. I can't wait to see what happens when Reeves comes after him and he just skates away laughing. Bait them tease them antagonize them play as dirty as you can. Who's listening to sports talk radio elementary all when stall came over and I think it was Maguire who said that stall is one of the greasiest players ever even grease here than placed and more hated. I hope for the sake of Nathan McKinnon and all of the Avalanche that those two players bring their greasiest grease game they've got going. It's going to be a lot of fun.

I sincerely hope the series goes as you described it :munch:

The Golden Knights, much to the consternation of some in Quebec, have more Quebecois on the team than the Habs: Marchessault, Roy, Fleury, Carrier.

I'd take any of those four on my team!

Great goal from Caufield but the Habs are fucked if they don’t get Petry back.

That wasn't fun.

They really do need Petry, and if they don't get some punch (vs. their counterpunching) in the offense - give Tartar a shot?

I hope this doesn't turn into a series of how many goals can the Knights score on Carey Price every night. Because that's what it was last night.

Habs actually took it to the Knights early on, they were the better team to start. But as the Avs unfortunately learned in the previous series, do NOT lose a defensive zone faceoff to Vegas. They have set plays based off those scenarios and they're all wildly effective.

Cole Caufield scored a great goal for the Habs so I don't think all hope is lost. But...gotta play better, including Price. He gave up one that was not stellar.

okay my self imposed hockey black out is over.(I foolishly let hope sneak back into my Leaf fandom)

Go Habs. Hope the level of hate continues with these two teams that was a lot for the 1st game of a series.

Petry and/or Merrill might play tonight.

I'm not sure this team can without Petry, so it may be the series here.

He had the Emperor Palpatine eyes tonight. All tied up headed to Montreal. I like their chances.
