Former Habs GM. Won a Cup in 79 after Pollock retired.

Not as famous as the guy before or after (Savard) him, Grundman was more of a businessman and executive than a pure hockey guy.

He was also tight with my mother-in-law's family back in the day, and even attended my wife's grandmother's funeral two years ago. He was an old school, classy guy, the kind who telegrammed you when you got a promotion.

Good question. Another fun fact: Grundman was the last managing director of the team ie the last GM to also be in charge of the arena management and business side of the team. People might wonder now why a non-hockey lifer held such a prestigious gig back in the day, and that's why.
