Jonathan Drouin hurt again. Did not look ready when he came back a few weeks ago. His season started off fast but it's been a bust since. Some rumblings the Habs might pilfer CSKA Moscow this offseason. They're already looking to bring in Romanov, but they're also looking at his defensive partner Alexey Marchenko and scorer Konstantin Okulov. Grigorenko and Nesterov looking at NHL deals this offseason and Kaprizov might jump over, so I expect CSKA to be busy this offseason. I could see CSKA landing Galchenyuk and any other Russian RFA or UFA that's not happy with what they're getting stateside. |

We've now reached the point where Karl Alzner is actually an underrated AHL player. They should play him the rest of the way in Montreal, let him potentially rebuild his value. Mete is done for the season, anyway. |

With the cap potentially hitting 88M (more likely 84) and watching Panarin in NY, I am in the camp of believing the Habs should just throw 12-13M at Taylor Hall. Fuck it, you can draft like a beast for the next decade and still not hit a talent like Taylor. |

A string bean his first season, he came into camp a little more toned. Alas it was only in the upper body area and his legs were still twigs (not a joke). He had a hard time staying upright in the corner due to this loss of body equilibrium and was wiping out during every puck battle. As a result, he suffered a groin injury that sapped him of whatever strength he had. Missed some time, came back and was better for a bit. Then he suffered a concussion. His playing time became more sporadic as Julien entered playoff desperation mode before he was sent back to the AHL altogether. He exploded in the AHL, going PPG for 13 games before suffering a serious spleen injury in a game against Cleveland. Ended up in the hospital, season over. Another arguably mishandled prospect by the Habs. Oh well, not like they're constantly talking about building thru the draft... |

Jake McCabe took him on after a hit on Eichel back on New Year's Eve, and I think he may have even tussled with Chara in that fight-filled B's/Bolts affair recently. |
