Habs still have cap room and need bodies. I'd give Da Costa, Shore and Enstrom a shot.

I guess they're rolling with what they've got, though, as they have enough guys under contract.

Lehkonen and Hudon will need to step up. DLR and Peca need to be real 3C's.

I heard today that Price had a .900 save % last season due in large part to the injuries. If he doesn't have a huge bounce back year, the Habs could be the bottom of barrel with the Sens and Nucks.

If Pacioretty is moved for futures, the opening night roster will likely be the worst Habs lineup ever. The defence without Weber will be disastrous.

Simon Despres signed to a PTO. Can’t believe it was Tyson Barrie of all guys (on an admittedly dirty play that deserved a suspension) who effectively ended his career.

Interesting behind the scenes look at the Habs research process for drafting. Love the part by Jonathan Trembley, PhD around the 2 minute mark.

"If he doesn't have those skills now, at least within the average, he's not likely to develop them". Pretty vast generalization to make about a 17 year old no matter what skill set they might be talking about. One gets the sense of just what a gamble drafting is after the obvious sure fire picks.

Danault signed to a reasonable 3.08M extension for three years. UFA after.

He's the no. 2 centre by default, but will probably take the tough faceoffs.

Hope he bounces back after an injury riddled season. Was on pace for another 40 pointer.

I like the Peca addition. Nothing flashy but he brings speed, faceoffs, an ok track record of scoring in the minors and the hunger to prove he can finally make it. He can slide up or down the depth chart as needed.

For a team that's going to be bad anyway, they added a true centre with some offensive upside.

In a holding pattern while we wait for the Pacioretty situation to get resolved.

Also admitted he had a drinking problem that's seemingly behind him. Hopefully he makes the most of his chance because he's got the size and speed to play in the NHL. Rumour has it his junior and KHL workout buddy Eliezer Sherbatov will join him at Habs camp. Jacked 5'6 Israeli speedster who could become a fan fave in Laval.

I honestly think he and Juulsen were ticketed to start in Laval before the Weber injury. Now they might just let the kids play.

I've got it figured out.

The Habs under Molson do not care about winning.

The point of the Weber trade is to ensure a profit. He will count against the cap more than Molson has to pay out. It's a buffer. Price is a good signing because it keeps them 'competitive'. Not really, but for ticket sales a good goalie makes winning a possibility. And the biggest thing - nothing Molson has done says winning games. Prove me wrong.

Pretty much. They're working like a small market team again, for reasons unknown. Surprised slowing ticket sales haven't affected Molson yet.

Sure feels like at this point the same kind of situation as the Ford family in Detroit with Matt Millen. Millen was clearly incompetent and unqualified but used his charm to win over the Fords and keep his job long after virtually everyone else deemed the franchise a disaster. I guess the good news is that Bergevin hasn't come anywhere close to destroying the Habs as Millen did the Lions, but if he's kept on another year or two, he might.

Molson, Bergevin and Julien will not be attending Max Pacioretty's charity golf tournament. What a sad joke this organization has become.
