Well this indirect swap is coming back to bite the Habs.
Ovi and Backstrom are raving about Eller, who put up 3 points in their game 2 win.
http://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/co ... echkin.phpGiven Shaw's concussions, this has been an unfair fight, but that's the risk that comes with adding smaller grit guys. Given they both produce offence at a similar clip, the Habs would probably have been better off with the durable centre over the versatile forward. They also could've kept both.
The rationale at the time was Danault is the better centre, and I won't deny that, but the Habs have Danault playing as a top-2 centre and still need a number 3. Drouin-Danault-Eller-Plekanec last season wouldn't have been the worst.
