Gotcha. Never mind. Nothing to see here. Move along. Well, nothing to see except a French tire fire. WTF happened to this team? I know, Vezina goalie out... But this bad? The coach should have been canned a while ago. Shit. Show.

In a nutshell:

Price gone, replacements AHL calibre
Galchenyuk at LW even though the team has no no.1 centre
Boring powerplay that has gone years without being fixed
Lack of scoring depth exacerbated by Gallagher getting hurt
Unimaginative coach unwilling to adapt
Pacioretty less than 100% after serious offseason injury
Over-reliance on struggling veterans (Markov, Fleischmann, Desharnais)

Miss anything?

Understood, but a coaching change would be a far easier fix than a ton of players. It may not make up for Price being out and others being <100%, but they only have to look to the Wild for the inspiration a coaching change can bring about. How long is Therrien under contract for?

Two years left after this season at around 2M per.

Molson's probably not excited about swallowing that, and Bergevin wants to keep him so Therrien might hold on to his job.

Got a last minute invite to last night's game against Nashville. In the one hunneds.

Condon let in an early softie but shook it off and was perfect the rest of the game. Until the shootout, anyway. Andrighetto and De La Rose look like they belong. Fleischmann was playing his heart out; he knows he's got two games left to become trade bait or he'll ride out his career as a depth guy on the Habs.

The defence without Petry and Gilbert is shaky. Not enough guys who can make a first pass. Pateryn could fill the Emelin role at this point. And now Gilbert is done for the season so there goes a decent trade candidate.

Watching three-on-three in-person rules.

Watching a game live helped me understand Therrien's warped mindset a bit.

Eller is a beast controlling the puck, but he holds on to the puck too long and doesn't distribute.
Galchenyuk likes to make one-on-one moves in the offensive zone, also doesn't distribute all that much.

That's why Desharnais gets so much icetime. Say what you want about him, but the guy is still their best pass-first centre.

They're wrong, and they should work with Alex, but yeah, when you're in win-now mode, that's how things go.

Also, Lessio can fly. And he's big.

Someone give the poor scarecrow a brain!

The Habs beat the first-place Caps tonight. This team will build you up, only to let you down.

Two goals for Galchenyuk.

Petry and Gilbert are done for the season. Petry has a sports hernia, which explains his recent struggles.

The hit that eventually ended Petry's season.

As I said before, this season's done, get some good draft picks, as this is a good draft year. Fire Therrien at season's end, and have everyone back healthy next year and go from there.

DSP shipped out to NJ for Stefan Matteau.

DSP just wasn't quick enough to make a difference on the ice. Thought he was playing better lately, but still not enough to guarantee a lineup spot.

Son of Stephane ditched his junior team in the middle of a playoff race and got suspended. Hasn't made his mark in the NHL yet, and the big critique has been his unwillingness to play like the grinder he is. Could he be the next Weise?

Current injuries: Price, Gallagher, Petry, Beaulieu, Gilbert, Desharnais, Flynn, Carr. Eller missed the last game.

So the team's longshot hopes of making the playoffs are in the hands of a resurgent Galchenyhuk and a bunch of plumbers.

Galchenyuk is finally killing it at centre. I mean, he was before and everyone was screaming at Therrien/Bergevin to wake up and smell the coffee, but now he's on such a tear they can't ignore it anymore. He's even showing chemistry with Pacioretty. What a dumb ordeal that's dragged the franchise down. Shame on management and coaching. Milwaukee's Best is our no. 1 centre, so deal with it. *dog with sunglasses*

And now PK...

Really scary play, so I've been told. Missed the game and I kinda don't want to see it. I guess I'll watch it later.

Called a non serious neck injury. Price supposedly back either next Tuesday or Wednesday.

The scary part was him being so hurt, not so much the play itself. It looked like whiplash in the instagram below. This is nowhere near Zednik/Audette or even Pacioretty territory.
