You realize HF's content is provided by morons off the street, like you and me? Imagine if someone gave you - with your non-existent hockey connections or writing skills - a hockey blog, the content would be understandably laughable. Errr...wait a sec...

The point is HF is a web community that, even after the Tampa Bay Lightning had captured the Stanley Cup, were adamant Philly had won the Pitkanen-Fedotenko swap. They treat a player's potential as some form of hard currency, which makes them irrational and useless.

Reports of Alexander Avtsyn's demise have been greatly exaggerated. There were reports that he had suffered a potentially career ending wrist injury, needing a Sheldon Souray style surgery to fix things. Fact is, he doesn't even need any surgery. He'll be going to a Russian national junior team camp in three weeks, and is expected at the Habs' Camp in September (though I wonder if they're getting this confused with the one in July).

Considering the injury Steve Quailer suffered this past year, it's very good news. We don't have many prospects over 6'2" with scoring touch. You'd think the Habs would want to target such players in the future.

Habs sign Cornell D Brenden Nash. Sounds like he was their top point producing D for each of the past 3 years. He's 6'3", shoots left, and is from Kamloops. So another BC born NCAA player, just like O'Byrne and Bishop. And just like Bishop, he too was in the development camp last summer.

BC: the Habs' new Quebec. Price, Gorges, O'Byrne, Maxwell, Bishop, Nash... probably more I'm forgetting.

Our most important prospect, Guy Boucher, is the AHL's coach of the year:

Congrats, Scarface.

Posted in two spots... oh well. Like I said in the AHL thread, give him a raise to whatever it is any prospective NHL team is offering. Don't lose him.

PK Subban was also named a 1st team AHL All-Star. Cedric Dejardins was named to the 2nd team. And I believe both David Desharnais and Brock Trotter set new franchise records for points, Subban for goals by a defenceman.

Emelin just won a KHL championship, put up 8 points in the final round.

Still a prospect, I suppose.

In all, not a bad year for the Habs organization. Montreal makes their first Conference Final in 17 years, the Bulldogs are in the Conference Final, and the ECHL Cincinnatti Cyclones come back from a 0-3 deficit in their Conference Final to play for the Kelly Cup starting tomorrow vs. Idaho.

Heh, very good point. But you know what? Good. If the NHL and its fans are going to pretend, against all mathematically- and statistically-based reason, that a couple of four-to-seven game sample sizes "tell you more about a team" than an 82-game season, let them put their money where their mouth is and do the draft accordingly.

The Habs sign Klubber Lang!

I pity the fool that doesn't dig a 6'1 Swedish Elite League defenceman, but what Mr. T was doing in Djurgardens I'll never know.

That was Ken Holland's suggestion that got approved a couple years back. Yeah, it wasn't self-serving at all...

What a prick he was.

We'll see who the Habs pick, but I got to pick the SB Nation 2nd round Mock Draft selection for the HAbs. I wanted to pick a Blade, but couldn't go so far off the board at that juncture and pick Chuckles Inglis. Instead, I made E.L. happy by picking some Franco blueliner for Rouyn-Noranda: Jerome Gauthier-Leduc or something or other. Good offensive totals, which I like in my junior blueliners. Medium sized, right hand shot, was in Drummondville's system until they dealt him for Memorial Cup help.

Habs drafted big lug Jarred Tinordi. Can't wait till he might be ready five years from now.

I kid I kid, I have no fucking clue how the kid's going to turn out. Looks as good as anyone at pick 22.

Tinordi will be going to the London Knights, where he'll join a top club that's all kinds of lack of class. He'll be brought up to be an upstanding young NHLer like Patrick Kane, Sergei Kostitsyn, Corey Perry and Rob Schremp.

Louis talks about the big move from Harvard to the Juniors. I must say that white Juniors uniform, though simple and having that stupid number on the belly, looks pretty sharp.

Next time you're in beautiful Wheeling, West Virginia, be sure to check out some of the Habs' ECHL talent. Go Nailers!

Yep, the Habs have gone south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Some retard has compiled a list of the Top 25 Habs Under 25.

No, I didn't make the list myself. It was the result of a vote of 7 different Habs bloggers. But I did all the reports.

Anyways, here's the full list:

1. TBA (and if you can't figure it out, you're an idiot)
2. P.K. Subban, D
3. Lars Eller, C/LW
4. Benoit Pouliot, LW
5. Louis Leblanc, C
6. Danny Kristo, RW
7. Max Pacioretty, LW
8. Alexander Avtsin, RW
9. Tom Pyatt, LW/C
10. Dustin Boyd, C
11. Jarred Tinordi, D
12. Yannick Weber, D
13. Ryan White, RW
14. Ben Maxwell, C
15. Mathieu Carle, D
16. Aaron Palushaj, RW
17. Joonas Nattinen, C
18. Gabriel Dumont, C
19. David Desharnais, C
20. Ian Schultz, RW
21. Mac Bennett, D
22. Alexei Emelin, D
23. Andreas Engqvist, C
24. Brendan Gallagher, RW
25. Maxim Trunev, RW

Note: We did the voting before Desjardins was traded, and so those votes were discounted and rather than re-do the list with Karri Ramo on it, we decided not to try and assess him at this point. The ballots were all adjusted and if neccessary, a new #25 was requested.
