With a Zona win, the Habs officially finish 5th last. They can pick no higher than 7th in the upcoming draft.

Assuming they want a forward, which seems likely, they're all but guaranteed to get one of the top 4-5 forwards barring a major drop for multiple defencemen.

2. Demidov
3. Lindstrom
4. Eiserman

Probably how it shakes out specifically at forward, based on what we know about the Habs and who they've followed. They could also go for Iginla (fast riser, late bday), Helenius, Catton.

Either way, they're coming away with a much needed forward after spending major draft capital on Hutson and Reinbacher in previous years.

I hope so too! This is the most exciting crop of young players they've had in a while, and unlike previous regimes, the current management is actually emphasizing development over immediate results.

But they've got a strong core building with Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Dach, Newhook, Guhle, Hutson, Reinbacher, Harris, Xhekaj, Montembeault, Primeau. Now they just need a little more firepower.
