Well, I'm feeling a tad bit better about the Ryan O'Byrne deal now. Still hope he pans out. I think the depth in Montreal is hurting him more than anything else.

Montreal has depth? iiam:

Well they ain't exactly a one-line team. I'd say they're better off than, say, the Rangers.

One-year, two-way contract for Jarred Tinordi. If the Habs keep Emelin and Gilbert, Tin Man will compete with Pateryn for the seventh spot.

Don't forget Barberio.

I can't see the Habs not carrying 8D. Ideally they deal one of the 3rd pair vets (Emelin/Gilbert) and have those other 3 battle it out for regular ice time.

Meanwhile....

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Desharnais-Semin
Smith Pelly-Eller-Kassian

Well, it kind of sucked last year but had Price covering it up, so what's the difference?

I don't think they sucked, but for all the tinkering Bergevin has done I feel like the forward corps still hasn't recovered from losing Vanek and Gionta.

Now he's trying to hit a couple of homeruns with Kassian and Semin.

Well for a one year one million deal Semin is not much of a risk to take a swing at.

They did buy out Parenteau to bring him in. In fact, they're paying more to PAP than they are to Semin.

Well, they're still sitting on the same top 3 centres from the 2011-12 season.

Right, the centre thing.

I hope the Habs go with a lineup of:

Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gallagher (top matchup line)
Semin-Galchenyuk-Kassian (offensive zone starts)

De La Rose-Eller-Desharnais (defensive zone starts)
Flynn-Mitchell-Weise (energy line)

Two-year deal for Galchenyuk at 2.8 per. Now move him to centre, please.

OK, assuming no additional moves are made:

Forwards one-way (12): Pacioretty, Plekanec, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Desharnais, Eller, Kassian, Semin, Mitchell, Weise, Smith-Pelly, Flynn
Forwards two-way: De La Rose, Bournival, Hudon, Andrighetto, Holloway, Carr

*The most replaceable

Defence one-way (7): Subban, Petry, Markov, Emelin, Gilbert, Beaulieu, Pateryn
Defence two-way: Tinordi, Barberio, Johnston

Goal: MVP

Let's say DLR, Barberio fill those two bench spots, and Tin/Bourn stays because someone gets hurt.

The Habs also have 2.9M in cap space left and a few too many bodies, so Bergevin has room to make a deal.
