The Wylde just recently signed Brett Clark, who formed one of the worst top defensive pairings in NHL history with the late Karlis Skrastins. But man, could they block shots.

It appears Joe Sacco's near-infinite patience with Ryan O'Byrne has finally run out. He'll be a healthy scratch for the first time this season. The bad news: They're putting in Greg Zanon to replace him. Dude is currently sporting a -10 rating, tied with David Jones for worst on the team. Zanon and O'Byrne also sport the worst Corsi numbers on the active roster, a whopping -13 each when rounded down.

Seriously...why in fuck did Tyson Barrie get sent down? Just trade/waive one or both of them and let's get on with the season already.

Please waive O'Byrne, would be a nice pickup for us. An upgrade on Barker and desperately needed right side player.

The way he's playing right now I'm not so sure he would be an upgrade. He's been THAT bad.

As long as he stays on the right I'm fine with it.

I'm guessing the Avalanche are icing the most expensive third line in the league in Mitchell-O'Reilly-Jones. Can't believe the Avs are passing up the opportunity to post such an accomplishment on their Twitter feed. :toot: :shlick"

GOD this team is so fucking frustrating to watch. How the coaches and management thought it was a great idea to put the same exact defense out there that didn't work to start the season is beyond me.

And Greg Zanon...holy shit, he might be the worst defenseman in the NHL right now.

Anyway, Ryan Wilson is on his way to being the defensive version of Pascal Leclaire. No sooner back from injury does he take a puck while sitting on the bench, a puck shot by his teammate Cody McLeod. I guess it's gonna take something like THAT to force Sacco and Sherman to reinsert Barrie and possibly Elliott back into the lineup. It took injuries to Wilson and EJ to finally make Sacco give Barrie a regular shift, and sure en

As for the Wylde...if not for pedestrian goaltending from Backstrom, the score wouldn't have been as close as it was. Minnesota HAS to be exploring options of upgrading their netminding situation. The fact that Minny and Vancouver aren't in the same division any longer might ignite possible talks, who knows.

If they know what's good for them, they'll move PMB and Heatley, possibly Setoguchi, and keep Cullen. Dude was pretty awesome for them tonight--nearly had a hat trick.

2nd game of the home-and-home...even worse.

The thing that makes it that much more painful is that Russo keeps tweeting that this is a season-high in goals for the Wylde, a season-high in points for this player, a franchise record for that player, etc., all at the expense of the Avs. One of the worst offensive teams in the league and one of the worst teams in the league period is using the Avalanche as practice. Just disgusting.

If this latest setback doesn't get Joe Sacco fired, then it's clear the team is gonna ride this tank to the finish and make a decision then.

Didn't watch it of course but from looking at the box score and shots on goal it looks like the AV's were out for a smoke break for the 1st 10 minutes then really outplayed the Mild for the last 50. The data view at all accurate?

I only followed on Twitter whilst finishing up Downton Abbey series 2, but yeah, it appears that way, except that the Avs' D was out for a smoke break for the entire 60. Only the offense finally showed up near the end.
