Parise is a complete player, so I'm probably selling him short here, but with everyone doing so much checking you'd think SOMEONE would be freed up to score goals.

Parise is no Joe. Best years are generally around 22-26. Not everyone is the same, it's just the average curve. Joe having his top year at 31 isn't unheard of, but it isn't normal.

@Russostrib @rayferrarotsn some of the best mitts in the game! Did look like he was trying to skate with goalie pads on tho! #brucat

Sad news, JP Parise is likely nearing the end. He stopped chemo treatments for lung cancer a while back and according to Russo, has deteriorated rapidly since then. Zach won't play in tonight's game so he can be at his old man's bedside.

This may be the new hard luck franchise. Suter & Parise lose their fathers. Vanek is under gambling investigation. Harding has health issues compounded by kicking a wall. Did I miss any?

They had a serious run in with the mumps, Matt Martin may have ended Keith Ballard's career and there was no outrage about the hit. Their goalies have both got the yips. It's goddamn cold outside.

Holy shit is that ever awful. Their PK is ranked 8th too, so it's not like they are getting killed there.

Of course, take a step back and read this objectively:

Quote:
Word trickled out late Sunday and into Monday morning that Harding was pulled from the contest due to dehydration. Dehydration, which is a direct result of his ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis. It's the punch in the gut Wild fans seemed to be ready for, but still the sting is not something that sits right. Really, how many of these setbacks can we be expected to take before reaching the breaking point?

"how many more times can Josh Harding's MS screw us?" Sorry, Wild fans, you aren't battling this disease, FFS.

Anyway, wouldn't it be worth giving Timmay a call at this point?

There wasn't outrage over the hit because Ballard turned as Martin was going to hit him and caused his own head to hit the boards. Martin also looked very upset immediately afterwards. It's not like Martin pulled a Kreider, running him over and acting like he had no idea it happened or what people were upset about.

Huh. Looking up stuff on Mike Yeo revealed this article I had overlooked before.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck- ... 12358.html

What the fuck is this nonsense about Parise and Suter hiring Adam Oates as a "Personal Coach"!? That's a thing!?!? And then he just shows up to a practice?

One things kinda holding the Wylde back the last few seasons--key players haven't developed as well as they had hoped.

Granlund isn't really panning out as a top-line pivot, Coyle isn't the power forward they hoped they were getting in the Brent Burns trade, and Nino Niederreiter has filled out the "pest who can score" role well, but hasn't evolved past that. Mathew Dumba (who I just learned is affectionately known as "Dumba55" among some Wylde fans on HF due to the #55 he used to wear  ) has also not quite wowed the organization.

But while it's early yet, there may be hope on the horizon. In addition to having a cool Swedish name, Joel Eriksson Ek is quietly putting up points in a depth role.

http://www.startribune.com/wild-rookie- ... 399118261/

And I'm a little surprised here, apparently Minnesota waived Teemu Pulkkinen and he cleared this time, got sent down in favor of something called a Tyler Graovac. No idea.

Minny is in! Suter is out!

Can't imagine them winning without him.

Good to see Koivu still playing well in his 30s.
