Some key (bad) news from this NW division rival:
- Backstrom has elevated his game... Dammit...
- Scoring doesn't seem to be a problem even without Demitra, Ralston and more recently, Gaborik when JL's team continues its successful, trapping ways...
- The Gaborik situation may yet be a distraction, but as others have noted, it's hard to imagine that there's a market for a brittle, $9M scoring forward. In the meantime, this team continues to win. Dammit...
And interestingly, the Cannots (Demitra), Phlegms (Bertuzzi, Cammaleri), and Eulers (Cole) tried to address scoring in the offseason, while this team stayed the course, and by some observations perhaps even took a step backwards (really? Lose Ralston and sign Nolan?) but so far, they're the most successful team in the NW, eight games in...
