http://avalanche.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/ ... 2013020540 Matinee game against the freakin' Kings. For some reason the Avs actually play these guys relatively well (of course I'm sure I just jinxed them by saying this). Avs finally solved the unsolvable goalie in Devan freakin' Dubnyk the other night. Methinks Scrivens/Jones will be a tad more difficult. |

BTW, some milestones to be had: Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn will both play their 300th NHL game. Paul Stastny will play his 500th, becoming the 4th player in the 2005 draft to reach that plateau (the others being Anze Kopitar, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, and some kid from Cole Harbour not named Nathan MacKinnon). |

Well, Avs battle back from 2-0 (including an incredible goal by Justin Williams who batted a puck in midair after Varly bobbled it once in his mitt), scoring twice on the power play in great fashion, but lose in the shootout. Duchene is almost a hybrid of Sakic and Forsberg. Powers around down low in the attacking zone like Foppa used to, but also uses speed like Sakic to create space. Amazing kid, gonna do great things. Jones actually looked stunned on the O'Reilly tying goal. BUT...he was still amazing, and completely shut the Avs out in the silly session. Hey Chris! You could probably have Jonny Quick for cheap, but not so sure Wang wants another goalie with a double-digit contract attached. |
