Still mulling it over. I mean, I certainly don't hate it, but I kinda liked their old look.

One very interesting thing is that the shoulder patches will have "captain" or "alternate" for the players wearing the C or A on the front of their jerseys.

Apparently the logo is designed after the team owner's former Army troop, and those patches will be military style, with banners on the sleeve over the number, like where the rank is shown on a soldier's uniform. Pretty cool idea. Further rumor is they're going to play some pre-season games at West Point, which is pretty close to me, so I'm going to try to go. Although they'll probably sell out to military folks right away.

Kevin Woodley reports that Luongo recently had hip surgery and may not be ready for the start of the season. Panthros in the market for a goaltender.

Reimer coming in to ease the work load on an aging Louongo it would seem.

Demers inks a five-year deal. Reportedly he took a discount just so he could sign with them. How times have changed...the frickin' Panthros are a favored destination now.

So that's a pretty serious revamping of the blueline. Out are Gudbranson, Kulikov, and Campbell (and likely Mitchell), in are Yandle, Pysyk, and Demers. I think that makes them better overall, even with the loss of Kulikov.

In a division with four original six teams, the two best teams might actually be the Floridian ones.

Cats threw a lot of money around to Yandle and Demers, but in the short-term it'll probably work out for them.

What's the good word on Willie Mitchell? Suppose with all the D moves the Panthros have made and being 39 and FA, he's not in their plans for this season - but haven't heard anything about his retirement.

As it stands they already have 7 defensemen under contract so I'm pretty sure he's gone.

The Panthros sure do love to play "Pin the C on the Old Guy". Jokinen, McCabe, Jovanovski, and Mitchell. If that trend continues then Jagr will be the guy. But I'm hoping they try someone just a tad younger, like maybe Barkov or Ekblad.

Dale Tallon is old skool.....that trend will likely change with Tom Rowe in the mix.
