I saw his name on the Panthers and was wondering who he was. Saw no stats for the past couple of seasons and thought they must have been missing somewhere...nope. He had retired. Originally a Colorado 2nd rounder, he retired after some injuries and after losing his passion. Two years later, he goes to try out for his old junior coach, earns a spot in the A and reaches the NHL after only 5 games in the A and being retired for two years. Pretty impressive.

Whatever, I'm not going to begrudge this kid. He's a grit guy and the Avs were overloaded with grit the last 2-3 seasons. Florida on the other hand is severely lacking in that department, so it just seems like a better fit. I don't really see where he would have fit on the Avs roster in any event.

I think I read somewhere he was working as a clothing retailer or something. Uh yeah, if it's a choice between that and hockey, I don't blame the guy for making a comeback.

I got pretty excited about the guy watching him in a burgundy-and-blue scrimmage a while back. Good speed, decent hands. I could see him being a decent 3rd line guy who can score on occasion.
